Diploma Camps

Prairie Land School Division offers students the best Diploma Examination Preparatory Camps in Alberta. These camps consist of rigorous review and reteaching sessions for students committed to achieving high results on their Alberta Education Diploma exams for the following courses:

  • English 30-1 Part A: Written & Part B: Reading

  • English 30-2 Part 1: Written & Part B: Reading

  • Biology 30

  • Chemistry 30

  • Math 30-1 & 30-2

  • Physics 30

  • Science 30

  • Social Studies 30-1 & 30-2

You will review major topics, write numerous sample diploma exams, study writing exemplars and rubrics that are applied to the work you, your classmates, and your teachers produce. You will be prepared to write your exams and be able to expect an improved result for your efforts. Confusing concepts will be clarified and required curriculum fully reviewed as it pertains to the diplomas. Only those topics on the diploma exams are the focus of the Prairie Land Diploma Examination Preparatory Camps.

Delivery Formats:

The camps will be delivered online both synchronously and asynchronously, consisting of five weekend (either AM or PM) sessions of 3 hours each. Half this time will be spent as a full group reviewing concepts from student’s past unit exams, and any other concepts that will be on the diploma exams for that unit. The remaining half of the weekend time will be dedicated to individual practice and question/answer sessions. Students will then be given practice questions that they complete during the week asynchronously and submit by Thursday of each of the five weeks the camps are in session. On following weekends, consist of review of the questions from the previous week, answer any unresolved issues, and then review the next unit of study until all units are reviewed and students are confident in their understanding and mastery.

Summer camps for the August writing of the diploma exams will also be available depending upon registration numbers.

Registration Fees:

Total cost of the camps is $350.00 CAD per student for each course. An administration fee of $50.00 will be retained for cancellations prior to the start of the camps. Registration in more than one camp with a maximum of 2 courses per student will result in total reduction in fees of $100.00.
