Neutral Hills Wranglers Baseball Academy

What happens when you combine an unused rural curling rink, a great idea and a lot of hard work?

A dream becomes reality!

The Neutral Hills Baseball Academy stemmed from a casual conversation in 2018 when two Prairie Land administrators were enroute to a teacher recruitment fair. That brief conversation was soon followed by discussions with baseball aficionados in East Central Alberta and the need for a high quality training centre for rural youth surfaced. With the Veteran, AB curling rink falling into disuse, the ideal venue was found. In very short order, the rink was transformed into an incredible field house and training facility, ready for the first players to enter its doors. Community access to the fitness area of the facility makes it a true, cooperative venture.

The Academy strives to promote and foster character development and academic achievement by giving student athletes the opportunity to learn, develop, and improve as both baseball players on the field and students in the classroom. Students spend the first three quarters of their day working in class on their academic load, followed by training and practice at the division's state of the art training facility. Weekends see the Wranglers competing with other baseball teams across the province.
